Boys' semifinal line-up complete in Coca-Cola Cup

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The semifinal line-up in the boys´ section of the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school National Boys´ and Girls´ Football Tournament was completed on Wednesday as Karmeshwar Higher Secondary School of Kailali set up a semifinal clash with Creative Learners Academy of Kathmandu and Army School of Bhaktapur joined Bhootpurva Sainik Higher Secondary School of Syangja in the other half of the draw.



Karmeshwar defeated Siddhartha Vanasthali of Kathmandu 2-1 in their quarterfinal match played at ANFA Technical Center, Chyasal in Lalitpur on Wednesday. Prajesh Raji put Karmeshwar ahead in the 31st minute but Rajiv Lopchan equalized nine minutes later. Prem Chaudhary scored the winner for Karmeshwar in the 56th minute. [break]



Creative Learners beat Sautha Higher Secondary School of Morang 2-1. Ujjwal Bata gave the lead to Creative Learners in the 41st minute and Prabin Kila added a second in the 70th after Binod Rayamajhi had restored parity for Sautha on 43 minutes.



In another quarterfinal, Army School registered a 1-0 victory over Gandhi Adarsha Higher Secondary School of Kathmandu with a lone goal from Pradeep Thapa in the ninth minute of the match.



Azindin Miya struck twice as Bhootpurva Sainik defeated Gyanodaya International Residence School of Lalitpur 3-1 to advance into the last four. Milan Sinjali was also on target for Bhootpurva Sainik. Adesh Neupane scored a consolation goal for Gyanodaya.
