Bagmati taekwondo champs

KATHMANDU, June 15: Bagmati zone won the title of the Fifth General Choi Memorial National Taekwondo (ITF) on Monday, after garnering ten golds.



Lumbini came second with five golds, while Narayani finished third with four golds.



Among the seniors, Tej Badadur Bogati of Nepal Army and Dhanamaya Dangi of Rapti were adjudged the best players in the men´s and women´s categories, respectively. Among the juniors, Krishna Tamang and Puja Giri of Bagmati took the best-player awards.



The sparring title in the above-75 kg category, went to Dhana Bahadur Mali of Nepal Army, and the silver to Ram Bahadur Khadka of Dhaulagiri. In the 71-75 kg category, Omkar Thapa of Lumbini edged out Pravin Budha of Dhaulagiri for the gold.



The women´s sparring gold in the 56-60 kg category was taken by Dhanamaya Dangi of Rapti, and Rita Tamang of Narayani took the silver.
