KATHMANDU, July 28: The Supreme Court on Tuesday submitted its report to the Home Ministry asking additional security personnel for the safety of courts and justices. Assistant spokesperson Hemanta Rawal said that they have sought 41 security personnel under the command of DSP at the Supreme Court. Currently 21 police personnel under the command of Inspector are mobilized at the SC.

The apex court has asked 12 police personnel under the command of Sub Inspector for all 16 Appellate Courts, against the existing security provision of deploying five police officers. Likewise, the apex court sought at least five security personnel for each district court.

“We have asked the Home Ministry to provide one personal security officer for appellate and district court judges and two such officers to each justice at the Supreme Court,” Rawal told myrepublica.com.
