Pariyar said the abductors had freed him on the highway in a forest above the Seuti river bridge. He was brought in the boot of a black van from where he was held captive, Pariyar added.
Pariyar, a regional member of CPN-UML from Sunsari Constituency No 1 and district member of Nepal Oppressed Ethnic Liberation Society, had disappeared since July 7 morning. Six days later, he had informed his family about his abduction through telephone.
Pariyar, who runs a tailoring business in his home, has also been involved in land transactions for the past few years.

According to Pariyar, the abductors had threatened him in the beginning for not sharing his land deal commissions with his partners. After six days, however, they had started threatening him to join Madhesi Tigers with 1,000 cadres, he added.
Pariyar said he was abducted from Dharan by six youths of Madhesi origin. He said they had confiscated his mobile phone set also, and let him talk to his family briefly after six days only. They have returned his mobile set without the SIM card and battery.
Police said they would start investigation into the abduction once the Pariyar family files a case.
