Issuing a press statement over the achievements of the Khil Raj Regmi-led government in the month of Baishakh (mid-April to mid-May), the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said road expansion in the capital has gained momentum lately. [break]
“Of the 200 kilometers of roads being expanded in Kathmandu, 25 to 30 kilometers of road sections would be blacktopped by mid-May. By mid-June, we would complete blacktopping of 50 to 60 kilometers of roads,” said the statement.
The statement added that a high-level monitoring committee formed by the government to oversee the works has projected that 90 percent of the road expansion works in the Valley would be completed by mid-July.
The government has listed amendments to various 102 regulations, deputation of mobile citizenship distribution teams, talks with various agitating political parties, appointments in various constitutional bodies including the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Public Service Commission and Auditor General´s Office as its achievements.
Likewise, the government said foreign investment commitments to Nepal have gone up and revenue collection had also seen significant increase over the past one month. Also, the status of foreign currency reserve stands high at present, said the statement.
Among other things, the government has listed formulation of special security plan and improved law and order situation in the country as its achievements.
