Four persons died when a jeep fell 300 meters off the road at Rumsi of Deurali VDC along Narayanghat-Butwal road section in Nawalparasi district on Friday evening. [break]
The deceased have been identified as Dhanmaya Gahamagar, 25, of Deurali- 7, her three-month-old daughter Seema Gaha, Ganisara Gaha, 30, of the same place, and jeep driver Susan Mahato, the police said. The jeep was heading to Dhaubadi Pokhari from Jhyalbas.
At least 10 persons were injured in the accident. They are being treated in Kaligandaki Community Hospital in Kawasoti and Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan.
Meanwhile, a person died and another seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Dang on Friday night.
Bhabindra Thapa, 23 of Rampur, Dang, who was driving the motorcycle died on the spot when his motorcycle collided with a stationary truck at Narti of Sonpur-1. Pillion rider Shridhar Pandey, 20, of Rampur- 1 was seriously injured and was sent to Nepalgunj for treatment.
Likewise, two persons died when two buses collided with each other at 3:00 on Saturday morning along at Haripur of Sunsari. Another passenger was seriously injured.
Ronak Khatun, 7, and Mohammad Mehetak, 27, of Arariya of India died on-the-spot, whereas injured Mohammad Zia Ul Rahman, 30, is undergoing treatment in Dharan.
Similarly, a helper of a bus died after falling off the speeding vehicle in Makawanpur on Saturday. Binod Dhungana was run over by the bus after he fell from it. The bus was heading to Kathmandu from Jhapa. Dhungana (25) was a resident of Naubise, Dhading.
