In a bid to ensure same quality of service, the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division provided special training to the Sajha staff on Tuesday. The buses would be seen in Kathmandu and Lalitpur from Sunday.[break]
The MTPD provided training to 60 staff including drivers and conductors. Superintendent of Police Jagat Man Shrestha of the MTPD gave training to the bus staff on how to behave with women, children and physically challenged passengers.
Similarly, the traffic official also trained the staff about traffic signals, taking precaution to avoid accidents, rules against drunk-driving, overtaking and over-speeding.
After receiving the training, the staff expressed their commitment to maintain the historical reliability on public safety while traveling in the bus.
The buses will initially operate along two routes: Lagankhel-Tripureshwar- Maharajgunj-Gongabu and Kalanki-Thapathali-Koteshwar-Airport. The passengers can travel more comfortably in the buses as all the vehicles have 54 seats. The advanced 16 buses have been purchased from Indian motor company, TATA. All the vehicles meet Euro-3 standards according to the company.
The transportation company revived with the initiation of cooperative has also installed two close circuit cameras for passengers´ safety. Similarly, the passengers can also get information and entertainment in the buses as all the buses have LCD televisions.
The company is also promoting female conductors in the buses. Six female conductors have been recruited with a belief that the female staffs would well treat passengers. All conductors are at least SLC graduates.
