The lawmakers that include Minister of Irrigation and Nepali Congress leader Narayan Prakash Saud and CPN UML leader Karna Bahadur Thapa submitted the memo to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and UCPN (Maoist) leader and Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai at Singhadurbar on Wednesday.
"There will be stern protests if the parties disintegrate the nine districts of the far-west," Saud said after submitting the memo.
UML leader Thapa warned that there would be a joint protest against the disintegration of the far west. "We would be compelled to take stern action against the disintegration of the far-west," he said.
Accepting the memo, Bhattarai said that the parties were still discussing on delineation of the provinces and made it clear that no concentrate decision had been made so far. However, he made it clear that the demands raised by them will be equally treated as per other demands and no exception would be made. "There will be no an exception to your demands and they will be treated equally as per the agreement among the parties," he added.
Earlier, the far-west region staged nearly a month-long protest demanding the undivided far-west region which fizzled out following unceremonious demise of the CA-I.
