NPF says it is positive on unification of leftist parties
The NPF had launched a series of protests from Saturday against the government proclamation to transform the country into a federal nation.
The NPF is the only party to officially object to the idea of transforming the country into a federation.
Meanwhile, a group of leaders led by NPF Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the evening, urging the government not to go ahead with their plans of turning Nepal into a federation.
The delegation headed by KC had submitted a separate memorandum to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Sunday. On Tuesday, the leaders are scheduled to submit a similar letter to Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman Subhas Nembang.
The NPF has maintained that adopting a federal structure would lead to the disintegration of the country and upset the communal harmony in society.
The Interim Constitution in its second amendment has referred to the country as the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
