Foggy weather and thick cloud have reduced visibility at the airport near to zero, halting all six daily flights, added Lamsal.
For the past few days, temperature in Tarai has suddenly fallen, making normal life difficult. On Monday, the day-temperature at Simara Airport was 7 degree Celsius. While in the morning (from 4 to 6 am), the temperature was 3 degree Celsius.
“Flights will resume when the weather becomes favorable for flight operation, informed Lamsal.
Nearly 3,500 passengers have been affected due to flight cancellation.
“Airlines are losing millions of rupees due to cancellation of flights,” said Suresh Regmi, chief of Simara based branch office of Budhha Air.
