1,813 drivers fined for violating traffic rules in last 24 hrs

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported that among those penalized, nine individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 105 were for improper ride-sharing practices, 119 for ignoring traffic signals, and 115 for speeding.

KATHMANDU, July 5: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,813 drivers were fined for breaking traffic rules. More than Rs 500,000 was collected in fines from drivers who violated traffic rules. 



The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported that among those penalized, nine individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 105 were for improper ride-sharing practices, 119 for ignoring traffic signals, and 115 for speeding.

Additionally, 102 drivers failed to adhere to lane discipline, 79 honked in restricted areas, 117 parked in road boxes, and 65 drove on one-way lanes. Similarly, 1,110 were taken action for various other traffic violations.
