Body of missing man retrieved from Begnas Lake

KATHMANDU, June 9: The body of a man who went missing while swimming in Begnas Lake, Kaski, has been found dead.



According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, deputy spokesperson for the Armed Police Force (APF), on Monday around 10 am, divers from the APF recovered the body from a depth of 35 feet.

The missing man, Rajesh Shrestha,43, a resident of Manakamana of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha district, disappeared on the evening of June 8 while swimming in the lake.


After receiving the report of his disappearance, the Armed Police Force Nepal's Team No. 24 Kalika Battalion deployed a team of seven divers under the command of an Armed Police Inspector to conduct the search.


The team successfully located and retrieved his body from the lake.
