Diver team deployed to search for missing person in Begnas Lake

Police have launched a search operation for a man who went missing while swimming in Begnas Lake near Majhikuna, Pokhara Metropolitan City-31.

KATHMANDU, June 9: Police have launched a search operation for a man who went missing while swimming in Begnas Lake near Majhikuna, Pokhara Metropolitan City-31.


Rajesh Shrestha, 43, a resident of Manakamana of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha district, disappeared on the evening of June 8 while swimming in the lake.

After receiving the report of his disappearance, the Armed Police Force Nepal's Team No. 24 Kalika Battalion deployed a team of seven divers under the command of an Armed Police Inspector to conduct the search.


APF Deputy Spokesperson DSP Shailendra Thapa said they have intensified the search. The operation continues, and officials are yet to receive further details.
