Tenth grader commits suicide

ILAM, June 19: A tenth grade student committed suicide in the district headquarters on early Tuesday morning.



The deceased identified as Sidhartha Baburaja Subedi, a student at Green Valley Academy took such drastic step after he failed to make a helicopter to showcase at an exhibition in Biratnagar.



Subedi, originally from Shantidada was currently residing in Barhabasti and is an only child of his parents.



According to his uncle and an employee at District Education Office, Dambar Subedi, Sidhartha was trying hard to make the helicopter till late night. After an unsuccessful stint, he went to his friend´s place and was found hanging only in the morning, his uncle informed.



Subedi´s principle at school Rajan Michael Gurung said, "Sidhartha was very talented. He was participating in the exhibition from his own side, school never pressurized him to make anything and participate in the program."



After preliminary investigation police have been assuming that Subedi committed suicide after he failed to make the helicopter, informed police sub-inspector Lila Gurung.
