Speaking over the phone from his residence in Dallu with local leaders and civil society members of Rukum district, Khanal expressed his confidence that achievements of the 2006 people’s movement will be institutionalized, at any cost.
He said whoever comes in the way of the peace and constitution process will be crushed and called on all progressive forces for unity to create a conducive environment for national consensus.
During today’s conversation, Khanal spoke to Rukum UML chairman Thagendra Prakash Puri, UCPN (Maoist) district secretary Ramshur Budha, Nepali Congress district president Man Bahadur Nepali and civil society member Min Bahadur Pun, among others.
The district representatives called on the UML chairman to work for broader political consensus for nation building and for the timely conclusion the peace and constitution drafting processes.
Khanal began telephonic conversation with local leaders and civil society members of various districts last Thursday to learn of their views on the ongoing peace process and constitution drafting task.
