30 injured in bus accident

DOLAKHA, Oct 23: Thirty persons were injured when a bus heading to Kathmandu from Jiri met with an accident at Busti of Namdu VDC-2 of Dolakha district on Saturday morning. Among them, eight were critically injured.



Maiya Shrestha and Sabita Shrestha of Tholopatal VDC of Dolakha, Rajan Sunuwar, Binod Kumar Sunuwar of Kumbhukasthali of Ramechhap, Pramod Simkhida of Chabahil of Kathmandu and Jangbu Sherpa of Setang of Solukhumbu have been taken to Charikot for treatment.[break]



Similarly, Keshav Dahal of Kavre VDC, Ranjita Karki Shailungeswor VDC, Bhagawati Silwal of Bhimeswor Municipality-4 of Dolakha, Sanjiv Nepali of Preeti-9 of Ramechhap are undergoing treatment in Chho Rolpa Hospital at Charikot. Other injured were taken to Jiri for treatment.



According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred after the speeding bus (Ba 2 Kha 3572) carrying 50 passengers lost balance.



Superintendent of Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh said the bus driver and his assistant have been absconding after the accident.
