KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The identities of all the injured in the Doti bus accident have been revealed. A night bus (Na 5 Kha 4491) belonging to Shaileshwari Transport, en route to Dipayal from Dhangadi, met with an accident on Friday morning at Samuhagad, Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-4 of Doti.
According to Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhimalal Bhattarai at the District Police Office in Doti, 17 people, including the driver, were injured when the bus fell off the road onto a local's home. The house was also damaged. Among the injured, 16 were passengers on the bus, and one woman, who is the owner of the house and had been sleeping at home, was also injured.
The injured include 24-year-old Indra Bogti of Sayal Rural Municipality-4, 82-year-old Tej Bahadur Singh of the same place, 68-year-old Harak Bahadur Singh, 56-year-old Lalveere Bhul, 40-year-old Dal Bahadur Bayadi of Sayal Rural Municipality-3, 21-year-old Hikmat of East Chowki Rural Municipality-7 Timurdah, and 35-year-old Dev Bogti of Bik, Bogatan Phudsil Rural Municipality-6 Paladi.

Similarly, 40-year-old Dambari Khadka of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-1 Tikha, 38-year-old Dil Bahadur Nepali of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-4 Rajpur, 29-year-old Bhesraj Dhami of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-6, 30-year-old Krishna Bishta of Adarsh Rural Municipality-4 Bhuva, 38-year-old Santosh Bohra and 23-year-old Prakash Khadka of Ward No. 1 of Adarsha Rural Municipality, 21-year-old Sabita Deuba of Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality-2 of Dadeldhura, 28-year-old bus driver Bharat Rawal of Shikhar Municipality-10, and 46-year-old Kamal Bikram Shahi of K.I. Singh Rural Municipality-2 were also injured, according to the police.
Additionally, 50-year-old Sarun Negi, who was sleeping at home, sustained injuries. Her condition is reported to be stable. The bus fell approximately 35 meters from the road. The driver, Rawal, stated that the accident occurred because the brake failed due to a broken pressure pipe in the vehicle.
All the injured are receiving treatment at Soo-Jung Hospital in Rajpur. Those in critical condition are being prepared for transfer to other facilities for further treatment.
