Why Dr KC should be heard

Senior orthopedic surgeon and the crusader of medical education reforms in Nepal, Dr Govinda KC, has won millions of admirers since he first started hunger strike to get the government address his demands in 2012.

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Hunger striker Prof Dr Govinda KC has commented that the National Medical Education Bill, endorsed by the House of Representatives (HOR) today, could not find the ways for long-term reforms in medical education.

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The resident doctors at the government-run medical institutions and academics have warned that they would boycott outpatient services from January 25 in support of the hunger strike staged by senior orthopedic surgeon Dr. Govinda KC if the government did not heed his demands for crucial reforms in the medical education sector. Dr. KC’s hunger strike was on 15th day on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Dr  Govinda KC, who is on his 16th fast-unto-death since the past 14 days, has said the Medical Education Bill being tabled in parliament favors the medical mafia and urged the parliament to make it pro-people and pro-students.
