Around 300 truck-loads of goods enter Nepal via the new customs infrastructure inaugurated jointly by Prime Ministers of Nepal and India on April 7, 2018.
BIRGUNJ, June 21: The Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Birgunj whose operation kick-started after being formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli and his Indian counterpart Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has not been as effective as expected for Nepal. Importers claim that the transportation of goods through the ICP has been inefficient and costlier than before.
BIRGUNJ, April 7: The Integrated Check Post (ICP) based in Alau of Parsa district has officially come into operation from today after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the check post.

With the aim to ease cross border trade between the two nations, Nepal and India had agreed to set the ICP at Bhairahawa in 2064 B.S.
