Felling trees for ‘scientific management of forest’ alarms locals

SINDHULI, Oct 21: The forest department has been felling trees in massive scale in several community forests of the district claiming that it was doing for managing the forests scientifically. The department has been felling trees in 33 community forests of the district. Locals are alarmed with these activities stating that the department has been felling even healthy and growing trees.
