KATHMANDU, Jan 24: While the government has failed to tackle increasing air pollution, Nepal stands the fifth worst country in the world in curbing air pollution, according to Environmental Performance Index (EPI)’s latest rankings. Nepal ranked 176 out of 180 countries.

Kathmandu, April 10: As ever-growing emigration of skilled and professional people to foreign countries poses a significant threat to the country’s development, it leaves numerous questions unanswered. Are we carving our skills to serve ourselves? Are we learning better to groom ourselves?

RAMECHHAP, Jan 24: In a formal program organized in Ramechhap district, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Pashupati Upadhyay, who had reached the district to get updates on the district's peace and security aspects, openly praised the works and achievements of a lower ranked police officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kumod Dhungel of the District Police Office (DPO), Ramechhap.

Basanta Adhikari, director and spokesperson of the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) shares his dream for his department. He wishes to have a task force especially dedicated to vehicle emission control. Ideally, he insists that he would have the designated team not only test the vehicles in a systematic manner with proper equipment but also seize polluting vehicles on the spot, if necessary.
