KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Five startups have pitched their business ideas for investment in the second edition of I-Cube Business Incubation Demo Day.

The best idea will be awarded a cash prize of Rs100,000 and the opportunity to pitch their idea at the World Innovation Forum, Switzerland

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Ten companies pitched their business ideas at the Enterprise Demo Day 2019 organized jointly by One to Watch and Accelerator Nepal on Tuesday.

Being an agricultural country, Nepal has not been able to profit from its available agricultural resources. There are numerous reasons behind the failure and one of them is a lack of proper business ideas. Considering the shortage in connection between the demand in city and farmers, Shashank Shree Neupane established an online platform named Rising Farm, in July 2017. Rising Farm is a collaborative platform for the investors and farmers through which micro investor chooses and farmer to grow goats and pay them accordingly. With this platform, anyone can be a farmer in just a click.

Being a management student, I am passionate about the brainstorming on new business ideas. Even today, I vividly remember when I was pursuing undergraduate studies; me and my friends met regularly to develop such new ideas. Nowadays, I see many business incubator centers commencing in the country. For instance, Kathmandu university based-KUBIC incubation centre, The British College based-Business incubation centre (TBC BIC), Agri-business incubation centre (ABIC), Business incubation centre Kathmandu (BICK), Centre for social innovation and business incubation so on and so forth.
