This year’s UN World Toilet Day has reminded the issues of sanitation with the theme “Valuing Toilets”. Life without a toilet is dirty, dangerous, and undignified. Toilets define public health. It also drives improvements in gender equality, education, economics, and the environment. There will be no sustainable future without toilets.

In 2013, the United Nations General Assembly designated November 19 as World Toilet Day to raise awareness about the human right to water and sanitation. On this note, let’s have a look at some facts about toilets you might not have known.

Bagmati Hiking for World Toilet Day 2018

Paschim Paaila and Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) jointly organized ‘Hiking along Bagmati Corridor’ on Saturday. The hiking started from Sundarijal and ended at Narayantar. It was organized on the occasion of World Toilet Day, 2018. The objective of the program was to observe the status of Bagmati River from its source to the core city, examining the flow of faecel sludge into river water.
