KATHMANDU, April 5: A new strict prohibition on speeding and honking has been mandated for vehicles traversing the streets of Thamel. Vehicles cannot be driven at high speed in Thamel, the main tourist hub of the federal capital.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Although plans to maintain the nighttime operations of Thamel were made many times, they were not successful. Now an action plan has been formulated to ensure the 24-hour operation of the Thamel area.

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: The Thamel Tourism Development Council has apprehended a Canadian citizen accused of troubling businesspersons and handed him to the Department of Immigration. A team from the council with the help of the Kathmandu Police arrested him on Sunday from the Thamel area.
