KATHMANDU, May 1: Nepal has cut its economic growth forecast for the fiscal year that ends in mid-July to the lowest in four years, saying on Thursday the country had taken a hit from a nationwide lockdown to control the coronavirus outbreak.

KATHMANDU, April 13: Painting a grim economic picture, the World Bank has significantly lowered Nepal's growth projection to a range between 1.5 percent and 2.8 percent in the current fiscal year 2019/20. This is the downward revision of the growth forecast from 6.4 percent that the World Bank had made in October last year.

KATHMANDU, April 12: Nepal's economic growth is expected to fall to a range between 1.5 and 2.8 percent in the Fiscal Year 2020 reflecting lower remittances, trade and tourism, and broader disruptions caused by the coronavirus outbreak, the World Bank said on Sunday.
