POKHARA, Dec 3: The government has set a target of attracting one million foreign tourists in 2023. During the eleven months of this year (January-November 2023), a total of 918,308 foreign guests have entered Nepal. If 82,000 foreign tourists arrive in Nepal within the next month, the government's target will be fulfilled. During the review period, most of the tourists visiting Nepal were from India.

KATHMANDU, July 31: Chinese airline company Sichuan Airlines has announced plans to expand its regular flight operations in Nepal, aiming to offer a total of 7 flights per week starting from the last week of August. The airline had resumed regular flights back in March and currently operates four flights weekly on the Kathmandu-Chengdu route.

KATHMANDU, April 13: Chinese tourists who came to visit Nepal by chartering an aircraft were welcomed by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kiranti at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today.

POKHARA, August 5: Tourists from China, which is considered to be one of the main sources of foreign tourists for Nepal’s tourism sector, have started visiting Nepal. As many as 1,593 Chinese tourists entered Nepal by air in the month of July. According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), this influx of Chinese tourists in July is the largest since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our incompetent government is going to have an easy year as our netas, civil servants and contractors can blame the coronavirus for the country not moving forward. Every year, our contractors get busy during the monsoon. This year will be the same but if our contractors fail to finish their work on time, they can blame China and the coronavirus. They can just tell us that their equipment is stuck in China and just share the contract money with our civil servants as usual.

KATHMANDU, May 18: China topped the ranking of foreign tourists to Nepal as of April this year although China contributed the second largest number of visitors to the Himalayan country in 2018, a Chinese media report said on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: The number of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal in August increased by a massive 63.9 percent year-on-year to 12,048. Officials of Nepal Tourism Board have attributed this rise in tourists arrivals from the northern neighbor to Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli's China visit in mid-June.
