KATHMANDU, March 28: Three youths who were arrested and sent to jail for shouting slogans against the Prime Minister were released on Tuesday.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Ghanshyam Upadhyay had set a bail of Rs 5,000 to each of them in an indecent behavior case on 26th March.
Uddhav Basnet, 23, of Solukhumbu, Som Sharma, 30, of Baglung and Biplan Khadka ,18, of Bajhang, who were sent to the Central Jail for failing to furnish the bail, were released on Tuesday after posting the bail, According to DSP of District Police Complex Kathmandu Niranjan Dutt Bhatt
On March 21, they chanted slogans against the Prime Minister at a program attended by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Baneshwar, Kathmandu.
At that time, the police arrested them. A video of the police trying to gag them while arresting them and putting them in a car was released, which was publicly criticized.
