KATHMANDU, May 1: Various youth organizations have taken to the streets to protest the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Sushila Karki at the parliament by the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) and Nepali Congress.
The rally that started from Maitighar Mandala is now heading to prohibited area of New Baneshwore. Large number of police have been deployed in the area.
Members of Rabindra Mishra led- Sajha Party, Bibeksheel Party and Freelance Youth Movement among others are participating in the rally.
Speaking at the program at Maitighar Mandala before the rally, coordinator of the Sajha Party Rabidra Mishra accused the ruling alliance for misleading the public by hiding the right information. He said that the government is not allowed to mislead the public by registering the impeachment motion against CJ Sushila Karki.
“The supremacy of the country is at the top. The government cannot register the impeachment motion against the person like the Chief Justice at a time when the country is the edge of the polls”, said Mishra.
Similarly, CPN-UMl affiliated sister organizations are also staging the protest in front of the Legislature-Parliament.
