Youth kills 'nagging' beggar

BHAKTAPUR, March 22: The District Police Office, Bhaktapur has said that a student was involved in the Tuesday´s murder of a beggar near Yatu Ganesh Temple at Kamabinayak in the district.



According to a press release, Chandra Bahadur Karki, 22, a student of Bhaktapur Multiple Campus, had stabbed and strangled the beggar to death on March 19. [break]



Karki had gone berserk after the beggar kept nagging him while the former was praying at the temple, informed Sub inspector Dilip Chaudhary. “First he stabbed him with a sharp scissor and kept punching and kicking him until he died,”said Chaudhary. The post mortem revealed all these,” added Chaudhary.



Karki, originally from Parjuli VDC-4 of Dailekh, was living alone in rented house at Kamabinayak of Bhaktapur-4. As to the police, Karki suffers from mental disorder.



However, police have yet to identify the deceased beggar.
