According to DSP Sud Kumar Siwakoti at Dharan-based Area Police Office, Yogen Bardewa, 25, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the series of chain snatching incidents.According to police, three chain snatching incidents were reported in the area recently in the space of two days.
Bardewa had snatched gold chains from them and sped away via motorbike, police said.
Police added that a gold chain weighing 1.5 tola of Sabina Rai was snatched from Singh Devi road area while gold chains of Drishti Limbu and Rojina Limbu from Munamadan Path were looted from Sanik Bhawan line area respectively.
Police succeeded to nab the looters based on a photograph of Bardewa taken by someone for the purpose of uploading in social the networking site Facebook. Police had carried out the investigation following the separate complaints lodged by them.
Police have also impounded Bardewa's one motorbike, Ko 12 pa 5557, used for the crime along with three gold chains looted from Rai, Dhriti and Rojina.
