Two arrested for snatching gold chain

Police have arrested Gore Tamang, 42, a resident of Nagarjun Municipality in Kathmandu, originally from Dhunibeshi, Dhading, and Krishna Prasad Shrestha, 39, of Bijeshwari, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, on the charge of snatching a gold chain and fleeing.

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Police have arrested two people who had fled after snatching a two-tola gold chain worn by an elderly.


Police have arrested Gore Tamang, 42, a resident of Nagarjun Municipality in Kathmandu, originally from Dhunibeshi, Dhading, and Krishna Prasad Shrestha, 39, of Bijeshwari, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, on the charge of snatching a gold chain and fleeing.

They had arrived on an Apache motorcycle (Ba 96 Pa 5797) and snatched a two-tola gold chain worn by Maiya Budhathoki, 72, of Taukhel, while she was sitting near her house.


The police have recovered the gold chain and the motorcycle. It has been revealed that Tamang was responsible for snatching the chain, while Shrestha was the motorcycle rider.
