Kirati informed that the former Maoist militia had been mobilized in the eastern hills for seizure of lands and properties owned by ´feudal lords´ and ´middlemen.´ He said the militia has been renamed as Jana Suraksha Samiti.
Stating that his party will give continuity to the 10-year ´People´s War,´ Kirati said, “We will launch the war soon.” He even stopped cameramen from taking their pictures.
Kirati, who had reached Dhankuta to garner support for the party´s district-level organization, also accused the UCPN Maoist of torturing its combatants. He claimed that Shravan Rai and Santa Rai, who left the Chulachuli cantonment in Ilam, were tortured and disappeared by the UCPN- Maoist.
On the occasion, a seven-member district organization committee was formed in the presence of Sudarshan, who was the vice-company commissar during the conflict days. The newly-formed District Organization Committee includes members of the UCPN Maoist Dhankuta District Committee and leaders of Kirat Workers Party.
It was informed at the gathering that talks have been initiated with the armed groups of the Tarai and the Limbuwan and Khumbuwan groups in the hill region to launch the ´people´s war.´
The reunified Maoist Limbuwan Rajya Samiti member, Akhanda, also informed that the party will seize property from the feudal lords without damaging the national properties in the line of the people´s war days.
