KATHMANDU, Nov 20: The scheduled hearing on the writ petitions against the government's decision to ban TikTok could not take place today.
The 10 writ petitions filed against the TikTok ban were scheduled for hearing by the bench of Justice Kumar Chudal on Monday. However, Supreme Court (SC) Spokesperson Bhadrakali Pokharel stated that the petitions could not be heard today.
He mentioned, "The 10 writ petitions filed against the TikTok ban could not be heard today as Justice Chudal had other court proceedings."
On November 13, the government decided to ban TikTok through a Cabinet meeting. Subsequently, as many as 10 writ petitions were filed at the SC challenging this decision.
