KATHMANDU, May 21: A writ petition has been filed against President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday.
The petitioners have stated that President Bhandari has invited the political party leaders to stake the claim for the formation of an alternative government as per Article 76(5) without Prime Minister Oli seeking a vote of confidence in parliament as per Article 76 (4).
The writ petition was filed by advocates Santosh Bhandari, Sujan Nepal, Nawaraj Pandey and Prakriti Khadka.
PM Oli was supposed to seek a vote of confidence from parliament after his re-appointment to the post of the PM in his capacity as the leader of the largest party in parliament.
