23 UML lawmakers close to Nepal sign in writ petition demanding appointment of Deuba as PM (with list)

Earlier as many as 26 lawmakers of Nepal-faction of UML had supported Deuba’s bid to stake claim for the post of  Prime Minister.

KATHMANDU, May 24: 23 lawmakers of Madhav Kumar Nepal-faction of UML have signed in a writ petition that is to be filed in the Supreme Court (SC) later today.

Earlier as many as 26 lawmakers of Nepal-faction of UML had supported Sher Bahadur Deuba to stake his claim on the position of the Prime Minister.

The main opposition parties Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist center), Madhav Nepal-led faction of of the ruling CPN-UML, Upendra Yadav led-faction of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha Party are scheduled to visit the apex court to file a case against the HoR dissolution today.

As many as 146 lawmakers have signed in the writ petition to be filed in the apex court demanding appointment of Deuba as the Prime Minister.

As many as 146 lawmakers have signed in the writ petition to be filed in the apex court demanding appointment of Deuba as the Prime Minister. Of them, 61 lawmakers belong to Nepali Congress, 48 to CPN (Maoist Center), 23 to CPN-UML, 12 to JSP  and one to the Rastriya Janamorcha Party.
