BAITADI, Feb 4: The Mahendranagar bench of High Court Dipalyal on Sunday acquitted a writ petition filed against Dasharathchand Municipality Mayor Narendra Singh Thapa.
A single bench of chief judge at high court Pawan Kumar Sharma acquitted the writ, shared Gangram Upadhyay, an advocate who attended the hearing from Thapa's side.
High court sources said the decision was made for there was no evidence to substantiate the claim of the writ petitioner.
It may be noted that Rastriya Prajatantra Party's mayoral candidate Puskar Raj Joshi had filed a writ petition at the high court noting there was rigging in vote count of the municipality election held in June 2017.
Thapa had secured 3,762 votes while his close contender Joshi obtained 3,700 votes int eh mayoral race.
