The speeches highlighted the works and qualities of classical Urdu and Persian poet Mirza Ghalib, American poet, essayist and journalist - Walt Whitman, and Nepali writer Shankar Lamichhane as well as Nepali poets Bhupi Sherchan and Bhim Darshan Rokka.

The speeches provided interesting trivia about each of these literary figures, their lives and their works. The event also had singers Lochan Bhattarai and Shailesh Singh provide musical performances to poems by Bhim Darshan Rokka.

Prakash Sayami mentioned that like the event held in Spain where every year Cervantes’ Don Quixote is recited, this year they decide to include the same concept by reciting Rokka’s verses. The event offered interesting insights also on the friendship and work of the three Nepali literary figures Shankar Lamichhane, Bhupi Sherchan and Bhim Darshan Rokka.
