KATHMANDU, July 27: CPN-UML senior leader and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has said that maximum efforts would be made to incorporate the rights and welfares of the workers in the new constitution.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by Professionals' Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD) in the capital on Monday, leader Khanal said that the professionals have been contributing a lot in various democratic and political movements and hence their voices would be addressed in the new constitution.Parties should have a similar position on the issues of workers as different trade unions are opining for the same, he added.

UML has floated the provision of making 10 per cent representation of the workers and other parties also should be positive for workers rights, Khanal said.

On the occasion, PAPAD Chair Bishwanath Pyakurel said that the new draft has failed to incorporate the rights of workers which were guaranteed by the interim constitution. RSS
