KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Nepal Communist Party Chairman (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has made it clear that his party will not head toward authoritarian regime, dismissing the speculations of the people about the party’s intent.
Speaking at the winter session of the parliament that began from Wednesday, leader Dahal said that his party’s ultimate goal is ‘development and prosperity’ that would be achieved through the democratic political system.

This statement has come at a time amidst speculations about the party’s intent to form despotic regime in the future with the two-thirds majority government.
Dahal asserted that his party will fulfill the promises made before the people in the run-up to the elections. The communist parties had assured the people of economic revolution through the democratic political set-up. It was their main election agenda.
