They staged sit-in programs near Singha Durbar, the country´s administrative hub, for one hour demanding that the government amend flawed provisions about rape cases in the country´s Muluki Ain (civil code) and establish a fast-track court to swiftly deal with rape cases. They also called for justice for all the women who have suffered violence of different forms. [break]
Speaking at the porgram, Dr Renu Rajbhandari, chairperson of National Alliance of Women Human Right´s Defenders, announced that one-hour sit-in protest against violence against women would be carried out every Monday until the government forms a fast-track court and amends the provisions about rape in the civil code.
