DANG, June 16: Twenty days ago, Ramesh Pokharel came to know that his wife, who had left for Kuwait 13 months ago, had fallen ill and had been sent back by the company that employed her. Ever since, Ramesh has not heard of his wife.

Ramesh runs a paan shop in Ghorahi bazaar. His wife, Patali Chowdhary, went to Kuwait for work.[break] She was sent home by her employing company through the Nepali Embassy there.

Patali´s employers claim she landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on May 27. The embassy in Kuwait has also confirmed that she has arrived in Kathmandu.

Patali, 32, left for Kuwait without informing anyone. She informed Ramesh about her whereabouts three months after reaching Kuwait. Ramesh does not know the name of the company that employed her.

Ramesh suspects his wife was disappeared after arriving in Kathmandu.

Ramesh would not have known that his wife had been sent back to Nepal had he not tried to contact her. When he did, he was informed by the company that she had been sent back. After that, he waited for several days to hear from her, but to no avail. Then he contacted the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait that confirmed that she had landed in Kathmandu.
