The motorbike (Ba 57 Pa 5552) was hit by a tipper truck killing Chandra Kumari Adhikari, 45, the mother of Ujwal Adhikari, at the spot.[break]
Both Chandra and Ujwal of Keraghari in Panchkhal VDC-3 were heading for Daneshwar Mahadev temple in Banepa for worship.
Following the accident, locals had obstructed the highway till 4 pm demanding immediate investigation into the accident and action against the tipper truck driver.
The locals agreed to end the protest after the police promised that the victim´s family will be compensated and the driver will be punished.
Police informed they have arrested the driver and have started investigation.
