69-year-old Somkumari Mahato of Kolhuwa-8 of the district was severely beaten by Lal Bahadur Thanet last night. Victim Mahato's hand has been broken due to the beating, the Police Station in Kolhuwa stated.
The alleged attacker Thanet was said to break into the victim's house and started beating her on allegation of practicing witchery, according to the victim's son Kul Bahadur Mahato.
A complaint has been filed by the victim's family in the Police Station in Kolhuwa and investigation into the matter is underway, shared Rajendra Basnet, In-charge of the Police Station.
