DHARAN, June 16: A wild elephant was found dead in Barahakshetra, Sunsari.
Ramesh Karki, the mayor of Barahakshetra Municipality, said that the elephant was discovered this morning in a maize field near Kaushiki Community Forest in Barahakshetra Municipality-2.

Local residents reported the dead elephant this morning. According to Mayor Karki, the male elephant was approximately 5 to 7 years old.
The cause of the elephant’s death is yet to be determined. The District Forest Office Sunsari, Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, and a local team are investigating the cause of death, Mayor Karki said.
