When I was a child,
I used to call a spade a spade
The big elephant used to dance
In the TV at the day
At night, I used to dream the same
Child labour, child marriage still rife in Dang
Riding the big fat elephant,
I used to go for the jungle safari
Meeting Monkeys in my bed
I used to run after the cabbage butterfly
Believing that it fulfills wishes from the sky
But now things have changed
I don’t know why, but I feel strange
I might have lied
But no, that butterfly had died
If I see the tiger and hear it roaring
I must say it is a dog
For my wife would never believe me then after
For my children would get scared so far
For my parents never believe in my star
When I was a child,
I was not the man who thinks
There is a worse past waiting for unprecedented future.
