These days, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to entertainment in the form of TV shows. Just switch on the TV or go online, and you will find shows that match and meet every kind of interest you have. There is the vastly popular 'Game of Thrones', the entertaining bunch at 'The Big Bang Theory', or the eternal favorite of many people 'FRIENDS'.

Our local TV shows like 'Meri Bassai', 'Bhadragol', and 'Jire Khorsani' also enjoy immense popularity with the masses. These shows are short and sweet but because they're so entertaining, we're left yearning for more. We caught up with a few celebrities to ask them what shows they're currently hooked to!

Malvika Subba, Media Personality

I watch a lot of television. There are really good shows being aired these days. 'Scandal', 'The Good Wife', 'Castle', and 'Orange Is the New Black' are some of my favorite shows. But my preferred TV show is 'Modern Family' because it's different and unlike other stereotypical TV series. My favorite character is Gloria for she is hilarious and has an amazing accent!

Tenzin Tseten Bhutia, Designer

I'm currently watching 'Modern Family'. It is such a fun show. I especially love Gloria, who is the young wife of Jay Pritchett. She is very dramatic and I love the way she speaks. I think we Nepalis are also kind of dramatic so I can understand her. I also watch a lot of reality TV shows like 'India's Next Top Model' and 'Splitsvilla.' You will also find me watching shows like 'Project Runway US' and 'Project Runway Australia' as they help me remain in touch with my creative self. I usually finish my work by 6 PM and then settle down to watching these shows. I'm now waiting for the next season of 'Bigg Boss' to be aired!

Suraj Bhusal, Filmmaker

I love to watch the famous American television sitcom, 'FRIENDS'. It clearly reflects on our real life friendships and the special bond we share with a few people around us. As the last episode of the 10-season show was aired a few years ago, I tend to download the episodes and make time to watch the series on my free time. Ross Geller, the paleontologist is my favorite character due to his sweet-nature and sense of humor. Other than 'FRIENDS', I watch shows like 'Nepali Tara', 'Indian Idol' and 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' keenly.

Rohit John Chettri,Singer

My favorite TV series is 'FRIENDS' which I have been watching for over a year. I'm in the sixth season now and plan on finishing it all by this year hopefully. What I love about the soap is how it portrays the life of people, and not just one person, who are bizarre and beautiful in their own manner. I'm grateful to my girlfriend, who is another crazy fan of 'FRIENDS', for influencing me into watching a series as amazing as this one.

Even though it's hard to pick a favorite character, Joey would definitely top the list. He is a funny guy whose possessive love towards his friends is so pure.

Sitaram Kattel, Actor

In terms of genre, I usually opt for the comical ones, be it films or TV series. I mostly choose to watch Nepali comedy series, because as I belong to the very fraternity, I feel the responsibility to keep each other motivated. Some of my beloved ones are 'Tito Satya', 'Jire Khursani', 'Bhadragol', and 'Harke Haldar'. Apart from that I also enjoy a nice episode of 'Dohori Karyakram.'

I also love 'Comedy Nights with Kapil', which I've been watching since the start. I like how spontaneously Kapil cracks jokes and impressively succeeds in making everyone laugh. Their teamwork is equally praiseworthy.

GXSOUL, Rapper

I am an avid viewer of the Irish-Canadian historical drama series, 'Vikings'. It was aired a few years ago and is currently on its third season. 'Vikings' grabs my attention due to the depiction of historical figures in the form of characters audience can relate to. I admire the lead character, Ragnar due to the struggles and challenges he faces while he rises to power and becomes the King of Denmark in the show.

I also follow the famous Nepali comedy show, 'Bhadragol'. The light-hearted humorous show helps relax after a tiring day. I enjoy watching the character, Pade, due to the depiction of the character as a fun-loving, typical Nepali common man.
