KATHMANDU, Nov 16: The government has said that the upcoming global climate change conference will be used as an opportunity.

Buddhi Paudel, joint secretary of the Ministry of Forests and Environment, said that a road map will be prepared and discussed in the climate change conference. He said that the government has discussed with the experts which issues should be prioritized and everyone will raise one voice on behalf of Nepal at the conference. He said that if there is a good agenda and a good team, Nepal can raise its voice on the world stage about the impact and influence it has had. He said that apart from the formal program, he intends to raise the problems of Nepal about the effects of climate change by meeting alone in other programs. He said that he will also raise his voice about the problem of the mountains in the conference. He said that since the issue of mountains is not a matter of one country, the countries that have mountains can raise their voices together.
He said, “Nepal is participating in the climate change conference. We have three-four types of preparation for this. What works can be done by making a systematic roadmap of Nepal? We have made a roadmap on how to prepare. We have proceeded accordingly. We have a position paper. What topics should we focus on? Which should be prioritized? There are also topics that are better not discussed during the conversation. We have prepared our main agendas by identifying our important issues. We will carry a position paper and raise the same voice wherever we go, an inclusive team. A good and effective team is better and we will move forward accordingly. We will take the agenda from here. We will discuss. Our needs must be met. All countries will be present there, we will take it as an opportunity to meet informally and discuss our problems. It will help with climate finance and support. We are preparing to hold it through negotiations, on-site events at the pavilion and at the next bilateral meeting. We are serious about mountains. We also try to promote the Mountain Issue. The mountains can be seen as a separate agenda or inserted into another. We will negotiate with other countries. Mountain's agenda cannot be achieved by speaking alone, it should be carried out in consultation with other countries."
