Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Rijal emphasized on the need to make the country technologically sound for overall and competitive development of the country.

Likewise, Sandip Man Shrestha, president of Mobile Bazar, said the newly-opened Mobile Bazar and the expo would serve mobile technology enthusiasts through every means. “As a best option for all mobile technology enthusiasts, Mobile Bazar will cater every service related to the mobile devices industry. Our basic objective here is to discourage the grey market that still exists for mobile phones and to increase healthy competition in the market.”
Shrestha said that visitors could benefits from heavy discounts and offers at the expo. “We have included almost every mobile phone brand under the same roof,” Shrestha said, adding: “Every one of them [handset vendor] has been giving offers.”
According to the organizers, the expo has participation of almost every brand available in Nepal like Samsung, Colors, Huawei, Intex, Arc, Spice, Sony, Panasonic, Carbon, Videocon and BQ, among others. While customers will be offered up to 55 percent discounts on different mobile phones, customers can also get a 55 percent cash back offer every hour decided through lucky draws.
The organizers have also announced other special offers and scholarships for visiting School Leaving Certificate (SLC) students through lucky draws. The expo, according to the organizers, will have 100 stalls for device sellers and 17 service centers. The expo will showcase mobile phones ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 100,000.
Addressing the inauguration on Friday, Icchya Raj Tamang, chairman of the Civil Group, said that the aim behind the opening of Mobile Bazar at CTC Mall was to cater to the growing number of mobile phone enthusiasts and make the society IT-driven.
