KATHMANDU, Feb 4: The weather across Nepal is expected to change, with rain and snow expected in many parts of the country on Sunday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Various regions in the country are expected to receive rain and snow today. The MFD has urged all to exercise caution due to the expected increase in cold weather.

Meteorologist Govinda Jha at the MFD mentioned that snowfall is anticipated in the mountainous areas of the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces on Sunday. Similarly, rainfall is expected in the hilly regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces. The districts of Madhesh and the eastern Terai in Koshi province are not expected to be significantly affected.
"Considering the nature of the current system, it appears that the weather pattern will be similar to the rain and snow experienced last Thursday. However, the likelihood of such weather in the Terai Madhesh region is low. If it does occur, it will be sporadic," said Meteorologist Jha.
At present, a low-pressure system, accompanied by westerly winds, has entered Nepal. This system brought rain and snow to the western region on Saturday. This is expected to gradually spread, bringing wind, rain, and snow across the country.
This weather pattern is anticipated to last until Monday. Meteorologist Jha said that the weather will start to improve from Monday evening onwards.
