Due to the high winds, two aeroplanes scheduled to land at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) were diverted to Lucknow and Bangkok.According to meteorologists, a trough is an elongated region of relatively low atmospheric pressure that causes rainfall and shower.
"The weather will be clear from Tuesday evening only," Sameer Shrestha, senior meteorologist at the Metrological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Metrology, said. He informed that rain entered the country from the western region from Sunday evening and is moving toward the eastern part.
According to meteorologist Shrestha, rainfall and shower in the months of March, April and May are generally normal. "Thunderstorm and high winds cause losses in terms of lives and property while the rain is good for winter crops," said Shrestha.
